A few years ago, I had the greatest opportunity to travel with a friend to the mountains of New York.  Yes, we have mountains.  The Adirondack Mountains, to be exact.  We stayed in a resort near the mountains.  We got up early each morning to tackle a new peak.  The mountains were beautiful in all their splendor.  There is nothing like watching the sun rise on one of the cliffs in the mountains.  We were able to hike most of the smaller peaks and even a few of the tallest peaks.  I saw birds that I never new existed.  The peace of quiet envelopes you and calms your spirit.  I have never felt so relaxed and peaceful, even as we were climbing large peaks.  I plan on taking my family this winter, I understand there are activities for all ages and expertise.
