I am planning on giving my old laptop to my nephew. I had just been planning on deleting all of my personal information, and then passing it along. A friend at work explained to me why that was such a bad idea. Even if I trust my nephew, what if he lost the laptop or it was stolen. In the past I had stored passwords on this computer along with financial information. So, I downloaded ParetoLogic Privacy Controls and I was able to erase everything that was ever stored on the computer. I feel a lot better now about giving away my laptop.
