Serious Anglers should consider Fishing Vancouver Island
March 10, 2010 4:30 am Recreation and SportsIf you are an angler, you should seriously consider, at least once in your life, fishing Vancouver Island. In support of this idea, Campbell River, which runs through Vancouver Island, has been called the “Salmon Capital of the World”. Furthermore, the Cowichan River, also located on Vancouver Island, is considered the “Fly Fishing Capital of Canada”. When fishing Vancouver Island, one can expect to find salmon (as suggested above), steelhead, rainbow and cutthroat trout, halibut, rockcod, lingcod and shellfish like crabs, prawns, shrimp, oysters and clams. Please remember that proper fishing licenses are required for both fresh and saltwater fishing on Vancouver Island.
