At nine o’clock on Tuesday morning my mother had some eye surgery done at UCLA medical Center. It was a relatively complicated operation and she would be spending the next three days in the hospital. Because of this I spent a great deal of time with her in the evenings. Since both of her eyes were covered we had long conversations about a variety of subjects. At one point she told me about my cousin Marcie who is affiliated with a group called the New Tribe Missions. Marcie is a year younger than me and it seems as though she is getting a very well-rounded education while helping people out.
